We have been doing some small touch-up jobs around CanMag recently and were wondering if you, our readers, noticed. Because, if you had, we were also wondering what you think about the recent changes?
CanMag Improvements (We Think)
CanMag Trailer Database
The trailer database now categorizes added links by films in which they belong. We somewhat cheated to create the effect, so you might encounter some further changes to the new setup down the road.
But, for the time being, what do you think? Do you like having all the links listed under their designated film (by insert date)? You can also click on the movie title itself to check out the listed trailers direct.
Movie Database
We have made two major changes to the movie pages and they happen to be side by side. First, we have added a section of 'External Links' to satisfy new linking partnerships (discussed below).
Second, trailer links now do not include the title of the film they represent. Thought it was a bit redundant to show the title of a trailer under a film's movie page. The loss of title should hopefully make it easier to navigate links to trailers and clips.
Newsletter
Those of you who subscribe to films on CanMag will notice a big change on the next update. We have thrown out the old newsletter and replaced it with a smaller, cleaner version. The newsletter will now also include the current week's feature release in the banner.
Trust me, it looks mucho better.
Rating System
CanMag rated films and measured hype with the use of 'cans' on a scale of one to ten. We have recently thrown this rating system out in favor of a scale that goes one to five. The new scale offers more color and serves as a better guide to what is out there and how geeked we are on it.
You can see the new rating system by going to any film's Movie Page.
New Partnerships
We warned of this earlier and are now ready to announce two new partnerships with CanMag. In order to keep our readers fully informed on upcoming film releases, we have recently partnered up with AskMen and Joblo. Though we try to deliver ever detail imaginable on upcoming films, we do miss things from time to time. Hopefully our new partners will help fill the gaps.
Pay attention to new partner thumbnails appearing by the week in the Movie Database.
That's it for now! Thanks for your continued support!
