Having been away the past couple of days, I must
admit I have been out of the loop. Upon checking my message box, I received
emails from tons of people including Susan, Joel, D.E.S. and Sinai with
news that JK Rowling has announced the official title for Book VII of Harry
Potter.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Remember all of those possible titles for Harry
Potter: Book VII? Well, here is the official announcement:
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
That's it!
You will note that Hallows has been previously mentioned as part of
a possible title; Harry Potter and the Hallows of Hogwarts
and Harry Potter and the Hogwarts Hallows were both registered
by the infamous Seabottom Productions three years ago.
Though the title is now official, JK Rowling and Scholastic still do not
have a release date available. But -- yes, there is a but -- Rowling does
mention to MSN
that she is currently writing scenes that she has been planning for over
a decade. If memory serves me well, these same scenes were supposedly the
ending of the entire story. But my memory sucks (what's your name again?),
so don't hold me to that.
Joel also made this acknowledgement about the arrival
of the seventh Harry Potter title.
And also of note, this is the seventh door opening on her site, leading
us to the title for Book 7.
The release of the title today (the Winter Solstice) also fulfills the prophecy
from the books: "on the solstice will come a new" "and none
will come after".
I like it! But isn't Solstice this winter on the 22nd? "F" it,
close enough!
Update: Turns out I shouldn't do articles immediately after arriving home from holiday vacation. I spelt it "Hollows" when it really is "Hallows." My bad, thanks to all for the heads up.
We still hope that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
will hit shelves on 7-7-07.
