G-Force
Jerry Bruckheimer made a guinea pig action movie for kids, and it looked just like a big Jerry Bruckheimer movie. So the Blu Ray release of G-Force looks just like a big Jerry Bruckheimer Blu Ray.
On Blu-Ray: G-Force
It’s perfectly clear in that unreal, glossy way that Bruckheimer movies are. The light glows on the characters and there are lots of pretty colors sparkling around – fireworks, toys, whatever they can find to blow up. You see all the detail in the environments and the CGI characters, which look totally real and hold up to HD scrutiny.
The only thing that looks different to me is, since the Blu Ray is not 3-D, they seem to have taken out the effects that go past the film frame into the black bars. That would have still been cool even in 2-D, but I don’t miss a 3-D version because we know that on Blu Ray it looks all discolored with the glasses. They made the right choice to stick with an awesome 2-D picture.
