Couples Retreat
I wasn’t a fan of Couples Retreat the movie, but I knew it would look good on Blu Ray. Those tropical locations, how could you go wrong? Also, the hi-def trailer has been forced onto every Universal release in the past few months so I’ve basically already seen it.
Blu-Ray Review: Couples Retreat
The island does look amazing on Blu Ray. The water sparkles with that pastel blue color, where you can see every ripple clearly in sharp detail. Even the land looks great with the palm trees glowing that tropical green. At night, the island looks like something out of Star Wars with the bright colors in the darkness.
It’s like a Discovery Channel special, only there’s famous people in it. It’s certainly clear enough to see every beautiful detail of the lovely ladies, and every freckle on the dudes’ bodies. You’ll see every detail in the ridiculous costumes, the big gong, the chipped and cracked buoys in the water. Everything except jokes, I guess.
