Captain America
I was reading through a Variety article about John Krasinski looking to be cast into a rom-com and they close it out by mentioning that Marvel is considering the actor to play Captain America in their upcoming movie. Not so, or at least not likely, as THR's list of candidates doesn't even include him.
First Avenger: Captain America Lead Could Be
The actors currently being sought by Marvel include Wilson Bethel, who had a role in HBO's Generation Kill, Mike Vogel, who ran around a lot in Cloverfield, Garrett Hedlund, who we just saw in the Tron: Legacy trailer, and then Chris Evans, who can next be seen in The Losers.
If they are looking for a character with a witty personality, I can see Chris Evans doing nicely, though I have to admit that I liked the idea of seeing a jacked up John Krasinski. Eh, guess we'll know soon enough.
