So who is both geeky and charming? Columbia Pictures is betting on Andrew Garfield, who has been picked up to play Peter Parker in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot.
Say Hello to Spider-Man
Garfield had a foot in the door with Columbia, considering that he has appeared in a number of Sony films including The Other Boleyn Girl, The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus and the upcoming David Fincher project, The Social Network. It also helped that the studio loved his audition for the part.
Marc Webb is directing the next Spider-Man installment, which will arrive in 3D on July 3, 2012.
"Though his name may be new to many, those who know this young actor's work understand his extraordinary talents," said Webb, who helped Pascal deliver the news to Garfield. "He has a rare combination of intelligence, wit and humanity."
