Rooney Mara
Though Columbia Pictures' adaptation slash remake of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo has already landed itself a huge name, it was still lacking the title character. The studio has rectified the situation by picking up Rooney Mara, the sister of the always-smokin hot Kate Mara.
Rooney Mara for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
Columbia Pictures plans to dump a lot of money on The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo along with the two following installments. The Stieg Larsson trilogy also includes "The Girl Who Played With Fire" and "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest."
Though Columbia Pictures gets a boner for going PG-13 when they should be going R, it looks like they won't be able to avoid the (hard) R rating with these movies. From what I've seen from the Swedish versions, the franchise is bound to include rape, murder, sadism and some lesbian action. While I have money on the fact that Columbia won't get as raunchy as the Swedish films currently touring the globe, if they can get close that would work; unfortunately the MPAA is a bit tougher on domestic releases.
Daniel Craig is also signed on for the three-picture adaptation.
