DNA Films has cast Karl Urban to star in a remake slash adaptation of Judge Dredd. Expected to begin shooting this October, the project is still seeking a studio.
As of right now, the film is without a director and a plot. If by chance you've never heard of the character, here's a brief synopsis from Wikipedia:
Dredd is an American law enforcement officer in a violent city of the future where uniformed Judges combine the powers of police, judge, jury and executioner. Dredd and his fellow Judges are empowered to arrest, sentence and even execute criminals on the spot.
