I was lucky this year. I avoided a lot of the obviously painful ones like Good Luck Chuck. It was actually a challenge to think of 10, and I ended up splitting some because they were only kind of bad. Still, this list is always the most fun, so here it is.
Worst Films of 2007
Wild Hogs/Perfect Stranger – These both fall into the category of watchably bad, as in it wasn't painful to get through them, but all the while you marvel at how stupid they are. One is a desperately unfunny comedy and the other is a laughable thriller.
Enchanted – There's always one movie a year that everybody else loves and I just hate. For some reason, that was Enchanted this year. I just never bought into it so it kept getting worse and worse as it went along.
Blood and Chocolate – It's not almost monthly that some cheap knockoff aimed at young action/horror fans gets dumped in theaters. This is probably the most worthless one of the year.
Mr. Woodcock – There were only three laughs in this comedy, and two of them were a stretch. They had two really funny guys with nothing worthwhile to do, and ideas that should have worked were totally botched.
License to Wed – Poor Robin Williams. You just can't contain his energy in a live-action comedy. Can't he just say, "Screw the story, just let me go for 90 minutes."
Talk to Me – Certainly the most egregiously self-important movie of the year. Just because it's about racial history does not mean it's good. Chiwetel Ejiofor is good but the film does not make a strong case for the value of Petey Green.
Death at a Funeral – Now we're getting to the comedies with zero laughs. Here's another one that thinks dark comedy is just making fun of death. It has to have more bite than that.
Gray Matters – This was so little seen it's almost not worth mentioning, but it was really, really bad. I'm sure the real life sister who came out late in life was an inspiring story. Hopefully the real life characters weren't this annoying.
Code Name the Cleaner – Cedric the Entertainer is a funny guy. He has yet to make a funny movie.
Premonition/I Know Who Killed Me – I didn't think I'd see a dumber movie this year than Premonition. Then I saw I Know Who Killed Me. In a way, I kind of respect how stupid I Know Who Killed Me is because at least they tried. I guess they have to be held accountable for failing miserably though. And Premonition, Sandra Bullock should have known better.
