Zodiac
Unfortunately a better box doesn't mean a better movie. While the Director's Cut of Zodiac gives more, your initial impressions won't likely be swayed.
Zodiac Director's Cut
If you liked Zodiac before, you are going to like it here. If you hated Zodiac before, you will hate it here. If you absolutely loved Zodiac, then this DVD is a must own.
The Zodiac Two-Disc Director's Cut comes with a few additional minutes along with a plethora of extra features. With a film that requires the up-most patience from its viewers to start, one can only wonder why Fincher felt a few more minutes of Zodiac were necessary; but that is all made up for with the special features.
The Director's Cut comes with your usual array of commentary plus tons of features. Of all the extras, the three most impressive additions come from an extended look at the real-life investigation, the film's real-life suspect, and a look at the film's complicated visual effects. Complicated visual effects you ask? Trust me, it's insane on how much (unnoticeable) CG went into this film.
Zodiac Director's Cut comes to DVD January 8th.
