Here's a little how's-your-father. Though I thought Brandon Routh did a terrific job in Superman
Returns, it looks like neither he nor Bryan Singer will be returning for the next Superman sequel.
Routh off Superman: Man of Steel
While it has already been suggested that Bryan Singer will likely not direct the next Superman installment, Routh's lack of involvement comes in as a surprise. The good people at LatinoReview claim they have discussed the news with DC and, yes, Routh is no longer Superman.
So who to replace him?
Kelvin knew about Brandon not being the new Superman for weeks and weeks now, but made a promise to the DC people that he wouldn't break the story. Variety has now confirmed what we've secretly known for a while and Brandon Routh will be replaced in the stand alone sequel by whomever is cast as Superman in the upcoming Justice League of America movie.
It looks like that whole two-Superman problem has been solved, but who out there can do the job better than Routh?
