When American Gladiators opened to a two-hour premiere, I couldn't help but laugh. The show was ridiculous, and followed the exact same cornball formula found in the original series. But there was a catch - I couldn't look away.

It seems I wasn't alone. With the highest ratings of any new series this season, it became a no-brainer for NBC to order up a second season of its American Gladiators revival.
When it comes to how many episodes a season of American Gladiators actually is, NBC is keeping their lips sealed. What we do know is that this first season is slated to wrap mid-February.
Gladiators averaged a 5.9/14 among adults 18-49, and 12 million viewers overall.
The show has a striking ability to both arouse and frighten men at the same instant.
