Orlando Jones has spent the past few years popping in just enough to remind us that he exists. What, some of you liked Primeval? With a couple new productions coming our way, Jones is hoping to make a strong impression during 2008.
Orlando Jones for Misconceptions
Jones has been picked up to star in the indie dramedy Misconceptions.
Directed by Ron Satlof from a script he wrote with Ira Pearlstein, the story centers on a religiously conservative married woman from the South who receives a message from God telling her to act as a surrogate mother for two gay men.
Orlando Jones will play the surrogate mother. Okay, okay, I can't back that up, but he will handle the role of hopeful parent who comes to the woman's home to micromanage her pregnancy and in the process causes havoc.
Imagine a mix between Queer Eye and Father of the Bride... or something.
A.J. Cook has already been picked up to play Miranda, the surrogate who decides to carry the child for the gay couple.
The film also stars Sarah Carter, Sam Ball, David Sutcliffe and David Moscow, who will play Jones' life partner.
Jones was last seen on television making guest appearances in Men in Trees and Everybody Hates Chris.
