The cast continues to grow more impressive for Universal Pictures vampire pic Cirque du Freak. Joining John C. Reilly and Salma Hayek will be Ken Watanabe.
Ken Watanabe for Cirque du Freak
In Cirque du Freak, Reilly will play a vampire who drafts a 14-year-old to serve as his assistant. The youth is turned into a half-vampire and becomes the catalyst in a battle between vampires and the rival Vampanese. Hayek will play Madame Truska, the bearded lady.
Watanabe has been brought on to portray Mr. Tall, the barker for the Cirque.
Based on the bestselling 12-book children's series by Darren Shan, Paul Weitz will direct off a screenplay by Brian Helgeland.
Production on Cirque du Freak is expected to begin next month.
