Thanks to Sundance, some lucky soul was fortunate enough to screen Be Kind Rewind.
Screening Report: Be Kind Rewind
When I look at the credits for Be Kind Rewind I immediately think goofy comedy. Watching Jack Black and Mos Def create their best version of classic films seems like a comedic dream come true, but this film might actually be going another direction.
According to a screening report to appear over at AICN, Be Kind Rewind is chalk full of heart.
The film has a surprising amount of heart.
So surprising that I was shocked to find myself tearing up at the end of the picture. Here I am, watching a group of people just watching a movie and it's got me almost crying. The heart this film supplied was so subtle and brilliant, I didn't even realize it until it crept up on me.
Be Kind Rewind opens to theaters on February 22nd.
