Talk about a late casting update for Star Trek. While we already know that we are going to see a younger Kirk in the film (played by Chris Pine), we didn't realize that there'd be an even younger version.
Jimmy Bennett is Super-Young Kirk
The good people at ComingSoon have discovered that Jimmy Bennett recently became the latest addition to the Star Trek cast.
Director J.J. Abrams has cast 11-year-old actor (he'll turn 12 on Feb. 9) as a young James Kirk in Star Trek, opening in theaters on Christmas Day. Bennett has appeared in such films as Hostage, The Amityville Horror, Firewall, Poseidon and Evan Almighty. The older Kirk is played by Chris Pine in the film.
