Hairspray
I knew Hairspray was going to look great on Blu Ray with all the colors and visual effects. It is truly pure happiness in HD. I admit I cried, the joy was so overwhelming.
On Blu-Ray: Hairspray
There are tons of pastels from the Corny Collins set to the ladies' dresses and even some of the guys' suits. The shiny shoes and greasy hair reflect light nicely too. The sparkly dresses worn by Michelle Pfeiffer and John Travolta offer another kind of shine.
It's not overly done though. It's not like every single thing bursts out. City streets and interiors are normal. Only the chosen elements stand out in each scene. All the background dancers display their moves in perfect detail though.
The end credits with their animation are the real Blu Ray home theater demo. All the dancers stand out from those backgrounds, and my favorite song since Bat Out of Hell II is playing, yet Enchanted got three song nominations? Please.
