It's been a good year for the Affleck brothers - especially Casey. With two big performances behind him and one big awards show ahead of him, the up-and-comer brother has become a hot item.
Casey Affleck for The Kind One
Casey Affleck has been picked up to star in The Kind One, a period noir drama based on the novel by Tom Epperson.
Set in the 1930s Los Angeles, The Kind One centers on an amnesiac (Affleck) who finds himself working for a mobster -- a sadistic killer given the nickname "the Kind One" -- and falling in love with the thug's girlfriend.
Epperson will handle adapting his novel once the WGA strike gets settled.
Sticking to what's been working, Affleck will reteam with Gone Baby Gone producer Sean Bailey for the production.
While The Kind One marks Epperson's literary debut, he frequently works with boyhood buddy Billy Bob Thornton on screenplays including One False Movie and The Gift.
