This casting update couldn't have come at a better time, as I spent the entire weekend trying to convince my family that James McAvoy is the new 'it' actor in Hollywood. Well, him and Shia LaBeouf, but who's counting?
Over the weekend I was able to point out McAvoy in smaller roles such as HBO's Band of Brothers, where his character dies within a single episode, and The Chronicles of Narnia, where he looks like a pederast fawn.
Though he missed his chance as Scotty in Star Trek, McAvoy should still be receiving a lot of attention from moviegoers during Oscar season thanks to Atonement, and he can next be seen sharing spit with Angelina Jolie in Wanted.
With not much to do after 2008, McAvoy has begun to pick up projects including Perrier's Bounty.
James McAvoy for Perrier's Bounty
James McAvoy is in talks to star in Perrier's Bounty, a comedy-thriller about three fugitives on the run from a big-time gangster out for revenge following the accidental death of one of his gang members.
Anne-Marie Duff is also in negotiations to join the cast.
Ian Fitzgibbon will direct Perrier's Bounty off a script by Mark O’Rowe.
