Hank Azaria plans to seed some new projects with his comedic talents.
Hank Azaria for Night at the Museum 2 and Year One
Hank Azaria has signed on to Fox's Night at the Museum 2: Escape From the Smithsonian. He won't exactly be starring opposite Ben Stiller -- though it does sound like a great idea -- he will be playing one of the museum's centerpieces as an Egyptian pharaoh named Kah Mun Rah.
Azaria will join Stiller and Amy Adams on the production.
Shawn Levy will direct the sequel off a script by Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon. The most recent draft owes credit to Scott Frank.
Just in case that film flops, Azaria has worked out a backup plan with Columbia Pictures.
Azaria has also signed on for Apatow's next comedy project, Year One. To be directed by Harold Ramis, who we quickly saw playing Seth Rogen's father in Knocked Up, Year One takes place in biblical times and will star Jack Black and Michael Cera. Azaria has been cast as Abraham.
