Who needs writers? While the writers strike, which is now concluded, had the effect of delaying many tentpole productions for a year or more, Bay wasn't going to let that happen for his Transformers sequel. Doing what he supposedly does for all his films, Michael Bay picked up his pen, pulled out the typewriter, or booted up the computer to get a template for the script ready. Something he is now done with.
Transformers 2 Script Template Done
According to RottenTomatoes, Michael Bay did all he could to not allow the WGA strike to take him down.
"I've been writing Transformers 2," said Bay. "We've got our characters all designed. I always write all my scripts, my movies anyway so at least I've got something to give the writers. It's like a template. We have a really good outline so I worked on that."
Bay explains his reasoning on the template: "We had to because I want to make my date. I'm not going to let the strike take me down."
Bay has already promised a lot more robots, and he is now promising better characters. That should be easy, since all he has to do is take some of the goofy character out of his characters.
