The first video introduces us to the Creature Design Meeting, where we get to see Guillermo Del Toro, Mike Mignola and others brainstorm what sort of creatures should be shown in the film. It turns out that this video took place forever ago; back in August of 2006. Crazy, I know.
Once we got the creatures figured out, we move on to the Johann Character Design Meeting, where Guillermo, Mignola and other members of the production team start to design concepts from Johann. This video also takes place in August of 2006.
If this is what they were doing back then, just imagine how cool the production videos will be that were recorded near the end of 2007. I can only imagine!
