With so many casting updates surfacing on the web the past week for X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Variety figured they'd sum them all up with a single report.
Ryan Reynolds, Taylor Kitsch, Will.i.am for X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Will.i.am rounds out the recent casting updates for Wolverine. The Black Eyed Peas frontman will play John Wraith, a mutant who has the power to teleport, and is another test subject of the Weapon X program that created Wolverine and other mercenaries. The role will be his first in a feature film.
As reported before, Friday Night Lights star Taylor Kitsch has landed the role of Gambit, a member of the X-Men that both Marvel and fans have hoped would make an appearance in any one of the films. So far no luck -- save for a quick mention -- but Wolverine should give the character enough screen time to exist.
Liev Schreiber, Danny Huston and Lynn Collins round out the cast as Victor Creed/Sabretooth, Col. William Stryker and Kayla Silver Fox, respectively.
Hugh Jackman reprises the role of Wolverine, and is currently lensing in New Zealand, Australia and New Orleans.
It has also been confirmed that Ryan Reynolds will play Deadpool, an assassin with self-healing powers. Reynolds has been eyeing the character for some time, and Marvel would like nothing more than a spin-off on the character.
