Hellraiser
Took Dimension long enough. After announcing that there would be a Hellraiser remake coming our way back in November of 2006, it took all the way until today to finally find some scribes to get around to writing it.
Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan to Write Hellraiser
Dimension Films has picked up Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan to write the remake of Hellraiser.
The due became popular with the debut of their Project Greenlight horror flick Feast. They have since worked on Saw 4, Saw 5, and have also scripted a remake of The Tingler.
Offered high six figures for the job, the duo have been asked by Dimension to make it quick. French filmmakers Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo are planning a spring start, not giving Melton and Dunstan much time to write the screenplay (from page one) from the set of Midnight Man, a film Dunstan is directing.
The original pic, which introduced the now-iconic Cenobite torturer Pinhead, follows a man and wife living in an old house who are caught up in machinations by the man's brother, a Cenobite torture victim, to rejuvenate his skinless body from the carcasses of fresh victims.
