With filming set to begin in China next month, some last-minute additions have been added to the cast of Mao's Last Dancer.
Kyle McLachlan, Bruce Greenwood and Joan Chen for Mao's Last Dancer
Kyle McLachlan, Bruce Greenwood and Joan Chen will join Jack Thompson, Aden Young, Amanda Schull and Shungbao Wang in Mao's Last Dancer, an adaptation to be directed by Bruce Beresford.
The film is based on the autobiography of dancer Li Cunxin, who escaped China toward the end of the Cultural Revolution and later migrated to Australia.
Since 'dancer' is in the title, we should expect A-grade dancers including Australian Ballet principal Madeleine Eastoe and ex-Australian Ballet principals Camilla Vergotis and Steven Heathcote.
