NBC has picked up Mira Sorvino for their upcoming miniseries The Last Templar.

Based on the bestselling novel by Raymond Khoury, The Last Templar stars Sorvino as Tess Chaykin, a Manhattan archaeologist searching for the medieval Knights Templar. Victor Garber plays Monsignor De Angelis, who helps find the artifact.
Paolo Barzman will direct off a script by Khoury and Suzette Couture.
Shooting begins next month in Montreal and Morocco.
Sorvino previously earned a Golden Globe nomination for her role in the telepic Human Trafficking.
