Affleck Sharpens The Blade Itself
Ben Affleck
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. After scoring success with Gone Baby Gone, the same team who brought that screenplay to the bigscreen is now looking to another gritty crime novel.
Ben Affleck to Adapt The Blade Itself
Miramax has acquired the screen rights to Marcus Sakey's debut novel, The Blade Itself, which Ben Affleck and Sean Bailey will produce.
Aaron Stockard is onboard to adapt the screenplay.
The Blade Itself revolves around two Chicago childhood friends who made their reputation committing petty crimes as kids before choosing different paths in life. When they are reunited years later, one is forced to decide how far he will go to protect the secrets of his past.
"We had a great experience working with Sean, Ben and Aaron and look forward to continuing our relationship with this new one," Miramax president of production Keri Putnam said.
Affleck is currently filming State of Play for Universal.
