About a week ago we put up a new poster for The Forbidden Kingdom and were quickly asked by Lionsgate to take it down. I was surprised to hear that it surfaced before the studio expected, as the poster looked pretty good. It turns out that Lionsgate was just looking for a site to give the exclusive to.
And who ended up getting it?

In Forbidden Kingdom, American teenager Jason (Michael Angarano), who is obsessed with Hong Kong cinema and kungfu classics, finds an antique Chinese staff in a pawn shop: the legendary stick weapon of the Chinese sage and warrior, the Monkey King (Jet Li). With the lost relic in hand, Jason unexpectedly finds himself transported back to ancient China.
In all fairness, the final version to appear over at AICN is less zoomed in than the one we posted. Almost as if the one we had was cropped down a bit.
The Forbidden Kingdom
The Forbidden Kingdom opens to theatres on April 18th.
