When finished returning to his roots with Universal's Drag Me to Hell, Sam Raimi will team with Paramount Pictures to adapt Douglas TenNapel's graphic novel, Monster Zoo, which doesn't hit bookshelves until spring.

Sam Raimi to Produce Monster Zoo

Paramount Pictures has acquired the feature rights to Monster Zoo with Buckaroo Entertainment's Sam Raimi and Josh Donan onboard to produce.

Monster Zoo tells the story of a young boy who discovers his local zoo contains critters much more frightening than the ordinary collection.

As of right now, Sam Raimi has only committed to produce. There has been no word on the search for a director. Maybe Raimi's still holding out for a certain Hobbit?
