Crank has been playing on the movie channels a lot lately so I can honestly say that I now have a firm knowledge on the franchise. Though the fall from the helicopter would have killed any normal man -- save John McClaine -- many were surprised to hear that there would be a sequel, Crank 2: High Voltage. As crazy as the idea is, the plot and characters are even crazier.
Crank 2: High Voltage Details
The good people at TheBadandUgly have learned of the plot details and some character requirements for Crank 2. See if you can spot the Crank formula here:
STORY: In spite of having fallen a mile from a helicopter at the end of CRANK, Chev Chelios faces a Chinese mobster who has stolen his nearly indestructible heart and replaced it with a battery-powered ticker that requires regular jolts of electricity to keep working.
Not only that, but the Chinese mobster that steals Chev’s heart has another interesting little twist about him on the casting sheet:
Hu Dong: Chinese Male, 100 years old, this aged gangster is the leader of the Triad gang in Southern California. Rejuvenated after getting Chev’s high-powered heart transplanted into his sunken chest, and horny as a 16 year old, he is lured into Doc Miles’ clutches by the seductive Vanilla.
Since Crank had a small bit of nudity it looks like the sequel will too. What I'm still trying to figure out, however, is if that is actually Amy Smart's breast we see in the first film or just a boobie stand-in.
