Despite any complaints comic book fans may have, the Fantastic Four movies do quite well at the box office. So it is surprising to hear that one of its stars doubts there will be a third film. Chris Evans suggested that the sequel, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer was it.

Chris Evans: FF3 Unlikely

"I think if there would have been, we would have heard about it by now," said Evans. "I tend to think with those things, the second movie comes out and they start working on the next script and I haven’t heard a thing so I imagine that chapter is closed."

That's not entirely true. They did take a little while to announce Rise of the Silver Surfer even after the first film had an opening weekend over $50 million. Jessica Alba had no word of a sequel when it came time to promote Into the Blue. They also have the lead actors signed for three films. Still, Evans would have no hard feelings if he never gets to play Johnny Storm again.

"It still made money, I know. It seemed like a cash cow. I’m not chomping at the bit to jump back into the tights. If they don’t want to make one I’ll probably be okay with walking away."
