An unexpected widget has surfaced for Lionsgate's The Spirit and, though I hate to admit this, I have no idea what it's for.

Below you will find an embeddable countdown widget for The Spirit. What it's counting down to I can only guess, so I might as well get our hopes up and predict that it is for an upcoming teaser trailer. Fingers crossed!

Will Eisner's The Spirit opens to theaters on January 16th, 2009.
