Cloverfield
Though I always considered alternate endings to be interesting extras, I never found them to be all that important until seeing the better-alternate ending for I Am Legend. What the film proved was that there are some alternate endings that play better than the final cut. Paramount is seeing if the same goes for Cloverfield, and have hence attached not one but two alternate endings with the film's upcoming DVD release.
No, you won't have to wait another two weeks to see what Abrams also had in store for Cloverfield, as both clips have surfaced online.
Cloverfield Gives Not One But Two Alternate Endings
While one of the clips takes an extended look at Coney Island, where you should see something crashing into the ocean, the other clip is fairly straight forward.
Unlike I Am Legend, I do believe that Abrams chose the best ending available to him. Some nudity would have been nice, but what can you do?
