Hellboy II
With Hellboy II: The Golden Army approaching its theatrical release it was only a matter of time before fans began talking sequel. According to Guillermo del Toro, a trilogy would wrap up the franchise perfectly. But there's a catch.
Hellboy II Success Means Hellboy III
While talking with Sci Fi Wire, Guillermo del Toro admits that, if the sequel is successful, there will be a third installment. But no more - leaving the franchise at a trilogy.
Guillermo del Toro, writer/director of Hellboy II: The Golden Army, told SCI FI Wire that he would like to do a third film if the upcoming sequel does well, but no more.
"If there was ever a third one, I would really make sure that we at least sign a contract that there is no more," del Toro said in an interview at New York Comic Con last week. "No prequels and no sequels: nothing. If that happens, then there is a third one we have planned, and the seeds are planted in this film."
Judging by the trailers alone, I guess we should count on a trilogy.
Hellboy II: The Golden Army opens to theaters on July 11th.
