Mel Gibson
Well look who's back! After showing his directorial prowess with Apocalypto and The Passion of the Christ, Mel Gibson is ready to get back in front of the camera.
Mel Gibson for Edge of Darkness
We haven't seen Gibson in front of the camera since 2002, where he starred in both Signs and We Were Soldiers. Now he will make his grand return with Edge of Darkness.
Adapted from the six-hour 1985 BBC miniseries, Edge of Darkness will have Gibson play a straitlaced police investigator whose activist daughter is killed. He plunges into the case and uncovers systemic corruption that led to his daughter's death.
Martin Campbell, who also helmed the miniseries, will direct the adaptation off a script by William Monahan. Gibson has long been a fan of the of the miniseries and immediately showed interest when Campbell approached him several months ago.
