It looks like all that working out Matthew McConaughey does is finally going to pay off. Now that Marvel has announced which properties it hopes to create over the next four years they are looking to the actor to play Captain America.

The good people at Cinemablend report that Matthew McConaughey is one of Marvel's top choices to become Captain America.
Physically I can understand why they’d want him. McConaughey has the build of an all-American beefcake type, which is exactly what Captain America is. Aside from his appearance though, he’d be a strange choice. Though he’s made a lot of movies, there’s still been no real evidence that Matthew can really act. Aside from his questionable acting ability, there’s also his public persona as a rarely bathed, pot smoking slacker. The McConaughey we’ve all come to know embodies just about everything that Captain America isn’t.
Not that I'm all about defending McConaughey, Cinemablend's remark on acting surely doesn't take into account A Time to Kill or Dazed and Confused. Why he became a romantic-comedy whore later in his career is still a mystery.
