It looks like Ellen Page's recent move of bailing out on Drag Me to Hell hasn't hurt her popularity with the casting agencies. The young actress has been picked up to play one of English literature's most famous characters.

Ellen Page will star as the heroine of Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre.
One of the most adapted novels in English literature, Jane Eyre is the story of a mousy governess who softens the heart of her surly employer Mr. Rochester, only to discover that he's hiding a terrible secret.
Though the film has a working screenplay by scribe Moira Buffini, the production is still short a director.
Page was most recently seen opposite Dennis Quaid in Smart People.
