American Gladiators: Jet
Meet the newest addition to American Gladiators. In the revamped show's second season, new gladiators have been added. Jet is a petite sports model who can actually do the things she's acted before.
Meet American Gladiator's Jet
"I do a lot of sports modeling so it is a lot of photos and pictures but the great thing about sports modeling is you have to be able to do the sports that you say you can do," said Jet. "If you go to a yoga shoot you better be able to wrap your leg around your head because they are going to expect you to do it."
Getting into the action has combined all the elements of looks, performance and skill that Jet has practiced. "I think that’s what sets the Gladiators apart from or why they choose the people they choose to be Gladiators because it takes such a specific person to deal with all the elements of what the show is about. You have to have the character, you have to be good on TV you have to be able to rise to the occasion no matter what it is because sometimes you don’t know until you are out there the first time. I think it is all those elements that create what makes a gladiator a gladiator. There are so many events from so many different elements from swimming to rock climbing to bungee jumping to tackling. There are so many different elements in the most extreme situation you can possibly imagine."
Jet was a longtime fan of the show in all forms, so this is her dream job. "I grew up watching Gladiators as a kid. The second I heard about it of course I wanted to be a part of it. I originally would have loved to be a Gladiator, but of course was a contestant first and what a big advantage it has been since then. The second I heard that I was even a prospect or they were even interested, I just felt very honored to be a part of it. So, I first did the contestant side of it, went through all the challenged and got to know that side of it and then they brought me in to be a Gladiator."
Once hired, the show's creators helped her come up with a Gladiator persona. "They came up with the name Jet. We kind of talked about what would have been good and what could be good. Blaze was a prospective name because I was a Blazer dancer before, but it just didn’t quite fit and then we decided on Jet. I think it is perfect, it is short and simple and to the point. I love it. I think just simple, go in get the job done, very sleek, fast I think that was one of the main reasons. The Eliminator, I got one of the fastest times on the Eliminator. They used to have a Jet previously in other seasons and they just presented it to me and I fell in love with it."
