Midnight Box Office: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
The international market got an early jump on Indy with France earning the film a promising $2.2 million on Wednesday.
When it comes to the US, the midnight showings that took place Wednesday night -- or should I say Thursday morning? -- helped bring in another $4.5 million.
A strong start should mean strong numbers over the holiday weekend. Don't expect to see any records to fall just yet, however, as it is Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End that has the record $139.7 million for Memorial Day.
Box office forecasters are expecting Kingdom of the Crystal Skull to push some strong numbers. Thanks to this weekend's failing, synonym for crap, weather, Paramount might find an even bigger draw to the theaters.
