Iron Man
You know how you get those emails claiming that you should buy some sort of penny stock right now? Like this instant? Well, here is another one for you: Buy Marvel stock. With the success of Iron Man, the company's stock rose over 20% in May and it looks like it should spike again with the release of The Incredible Hulk.
Since Iron Man did do so well, it comes as no surprise that planning for a sequel is already underway. What we didn't know, however, was that a production start date has already been set.
Iron Man II Prepping for 2010 Release
While talking with Military, Terrence Howard quickly mentions when we can expect Iron Man II to begin filming. It would seem that Marvel has it in mind to get the sequel out to theaters for summer 2010.
Mr. Howard, who is currently performing on Broadway in "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," will begin filming for "Iron Man II" in March, with a release date of April 2010, he said.
"We just finished working 'Eagle Eye,' which stars Shia LaBeouf, Billy Bob Thornton and Rosario Dawson, who plays an Air Force Office of Special Investigation agent, and who has a heroic role in the film," Colonel Clutter said. "And we are currently working pre-production on 'Transformers II.' There will definitely be some more great Air Force depictions in Hollywood over the next few years -- just from stuff we're working now.
And why was Mr. Howard talking with Military.Com? It turns out that Iron Man, like Transformers, puts the Air Force in a good light, which they greatly appreciate.
