Nu Image/ Millennium is looking to remake er, sorry, reimagine the 1992 film, Bad Lieutenant, that originally starred Harvey Keitel. They already have Nicolas Cage onboard to star and are currently in talks to have Eva Mendes take the female lead.

In the original, Keitel played a corrupt cop investigating a nun's rape.
Werner Herzog will direct Bad Lieutenant off an updated script by Billy Finkelstein.
The casting looks like a good fit. Cage has been inching closer to darker roles and he last worked with Mendes on Ghost Rider.
Mendes can next be seen in The Women and Frank Miller's The Spirit.
