Bruno
While one can only guess if Sacha Baron Cohen has begun his hijinks as Bruno, Universal Pictures has it in mind to get the film into theaters by summer 2009.
Bruno Coming Summer 2009
Universal has confirmed that the theatrical release for Bruno has been set for May 15th, 2009. It is the only R-rated comedy to settle on that date.
As Bruno, Cohen pretends be a flamboyant fashion and celebrity journalist from Austria who interviews unwitting members of the public who believe Bruno is a real person.
Like Borat, Bruno existed on the TV series Da Ali G Show. The character got theatrical support after Borat earned $128.5 million domestically at the box office.
Universal now hopes that Borat made Cohen popular enough to immediately draw attention to a new reality-like project involving him. I for one loved him in Sweeney Todd.
