While The Cabin in the Woods could fall under any genre, including porn, the thriller penned by Joss Whedon has been picked up by MGM with Drew Goddard signed on to make his directorial debut.
MGM Visits Whedon's The Cabin in the Woods
Joss Whedon will remain onboard to produce the thriller, which is MGM's first movie to get the greenlight from Mary Parent, head of the studio's worldwide motion picture group.
The film's plot is being kept entirely under wraps. Guessing the story's central location, however, shouldn't be hard.
Goddard and Whedon previously worked together on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Goddard's popularity skyrocketed after he wrote the screenplay for JJ Abrams' Cloverfield. He also served as writer and exec producer on ABC's LOST.
