Iron Man
It looks like Marvel and Jon Favreau have figured out their differences. While the studio was originally trying to lowball the director for the upcoming Iron Man sequel, therefore preventing his guaranteed commitment, we are now told that Jon Favreau has signed the papers and will be directing Iron Man II.
Favreau to Direct Iron Man II
The good people at DeadlineHollywoodDaily have learned that Marvel Studios and Jon Favreau have reached a deal in terms of Iron Man II.
(Robert Downey Jr had a sequel clause in his contract so he's on board.) Marvel Studios boss David Maisel was quick to put out a "definitely" richer offer to Favreau, but not quick enough for Jon -- who used the Internet and other media to rile up the movie's many fans by spreading nonsense that Marvel was dragging its feet and then lowballing him.
So there you have it. While having another director come onboard wouldn't have necessarily been a terrible thing, Favreau seems to have the material down pat.
