The Dark Knight
With The Dark Knight breaking three records in a single weekend there isn't much left for the film to prove, but it has once again come out on top of a particular list.
IMDB's Top 250 films (as chosen by their members) got rattled this weekend when The Dark Knight quickly shot up to the #1 spot. Somewhere the Godfather is rolling in his grave.
The Dark Knight IMDB's #1
After enjoying the top spot at IMDB for years, The Godfather was forced ton concede the position to The Dark Knight. With close to fifty-thousand votes from IMDB members, The Dark Knight's average rating is an impressive 9.5 out of 10. Easily beating out the average ratings of 9.1 for both The Godfather and The Shawshank Redemption, the film was an immediate shoe-in.
The film appeared at the top of the list with as few as four-thousand votes. While it was assumed that The Dark Knight's rating would drop with more votes, the film has continued to surprise by remaining at 9.5. Is it possible that Heath Ledger's last film is not only his best but the best? A crazy claim but, according to IMDB, the absolute truth.
