Sacha Baron Cohen has found a buyer for his Accidentes, a pitch that tells the story of an ambulance-chasing personal injury lawyer. Fox Atomic picked up the project, with Peter Baynham also onboard to write the script.
Cohen Pitches Accidentes
Peter Baynham shared an Oscar with Sacha Baron Cohen (and others) for their work on Borat. It comes as no surprise that Fox Atomic was quick to pick up Accidentes, as it was studio president Debbie Liebling who supervised the production.
The story centers on a lawyer of Latin descent who transforms from contingency attorney to hero of the working class when he helps an immigrant win a judgment against his wealthy employer after a landscaping mishap. He also becomes the enemy of L.A.’s power elite.
Cohen recently wrapped Bruno and is prepping to work alongside Will Ferrell in a comedy about Sherlock Holmes and Watson. DreamWorks also picked Cohen up to star in Dinner for Schmucks.
