Though Hancock still has us wondering what happened, Peter Berg is bouncing back with not only a Dune remake -- which I hate to admit that I'm super-excited for -- but a fresh look at Hercules with Hercules: The Thracian Wars.
Peter Berg to Direct Hercules: The Thracian Wars
Peter Berg is teaming with Universal Pictures to direct and produce Hercules: The Thracian Wars, a film based on a five-issue comicbook series by Steve Moore that recently debuted in May through Radical Publishing.
Ryan Condal has been brought onboard to write and Barry Levine will produce for Radical.
Levine and Berg agree that they want to remain true to the comicbook.
"What resonated for them was that this was character driven, about a character who’s more man than god, with conflicts and redemption," Levine said.
Radical is the most recent company working to get its properties onto film. Wouldn't you know, but the comicbook genre has been a hot one in Hollywood of late.
