Since it was Doom that put id Software on the map and later money in the company's pocket, I can understand why they feel the need to create another Doom movie after the first attempt er, missed the target.

Doom Sequel?

While Doom is far from being a must-own, I do have to admit that it is way above par for a video game adaptation and, if it ever does appear on HBO, I have no problem not changing the channel for at least an hour or so. I know that doesn't exactly sound like a compliment, but it kind of is.

Supposedly learning from their mistakes, id Software tells Kotaku that they are hoping to take another crack at the franchise.

"Personally I'd like to do another Doom movie, I thought working with it was a blast," he [id CEO Todd Hollenshead] said. "There are some lessons we learned. The best way to do things better is to get the experience."

"We’ll see what happens when we get further along in development of the (new Doom) game and there's more buzz and we share more about what the game will be about. As the buzz meter starts to go up that may kind of kick start the guys over at Universal."

How he plans to get this so-called buzz meter going is a f*@king mystery. Going on a postal-like rampage with a reallife BFG should get the ball rolling...
