While acquiring novels for possible movies has been all the rage, it's the non-fiction novels that aren't as common. Hoping to change the tune, Hilary Swank and producing partner Molly Smith have acquired the rights to adapt the bestselling book French Women Don’t Get Fat.

First published in 2004, French Women Don’t Get Fat became a bestseller for writer and former Champagne Veuve Clicquot topper Mireille Guiliano, offering insights on how French women manage to stay slim despite enjoying such calorie-rich fare as wine and pastries.
What is the secret? I have no idea, but have noticed that the general population in the US as a whole weighs at least a few pounds more than what is to be seen in other countries.
