The extra features on The Closer's Season Three DVD are nice and simple. Just a documentary, gag reel and deleted scenes. No need to go overboard, just teach us something, show us some new stuff and let us do a marathon of the show.
DVD Review: The Closer - The Complete Third Season
The documentary focuses on real interrogation technique, including interviews with real cops. I hope the criminals don't see this, because then they won't fall for the tricks anymore. It authenticates the show, especially in moments viewers might think it was taking dramatic license. It's not.
The gag real is surprisingly professional. It doesn't look like kids goofing off. It looks like hard workers acknowledging when they mess up but moving on quickly. They don't overdo it.
The deleted scenes are pretty significant. They seem to include major plot turns. Of course they are subplots that resolve by the end of the two minute scene, so could be easily removed from the final broadcast.
